St Helen & St Katharine School, Abingdon School and The Manor Preparatory School operate a joint bus service.  For ease of control and convenience, the arrangements are co-ordinated from a single point; St Helen & St Katharine School provides this role. Prefects from both Abingdon and St Helens, who have been given joint training, supervise passengers.

Since 6th September 2011 the Joint Bus Service has been operated by 3 service providers.  Blunsdons Travel for Woodstock & East Hendred. Whites Coaches for Faringdon,  Buckland & 4.20pm Witney service. The remainder of the routes will be operated by Weavaway Travel.  Weavaway are currently contracting Islip, North Oxford, Thame & Watlington routes to Pearces Coaches.

Temporary & Late Bus Passes

For temporary or late bus passes please email admin@jointbus.co.uk with your child’s name and details of the route/stop required and whether your child is a regular traveller.  Requests for passes the same day must be received by 11am.  Providing spaces are available a pass will be issued.  St Helen’s pupils can collect these from the Bursary at St Helen’s.  Passes for Abingdon pupils will be sent to the Common Room Secretary.  Temporary passes are only available on a termly basis and must be applied for at the start of each term.  Due to limited spare capacity on routes to and from school Late & Temporary passes are not guaranteed and will be issued on a first come first served basis. If your pass is no longer required please can you make us aware so we can allocate the seat to somebody else.

Online Application

The Application Form for places on the joint bus service is only available to complete online via the link at the side.  Details of the routes we will be operating can be downloaded in pdf format from the link above.  Existing passengers do not need to reapply for their seats.

Application for travel does not guarantee a seat,  as space on certain routes is very limited.  Factors such as having siblings currently using the service and living close to the stop will be taken into consideration.  Please be aware that Abingdon boys may only travel home on the later service departing at 5.20pm

September 2012 New Intake

The application process for new bus users in September 2012 will open after the Easter holiday on Monday 23rd April.  Where possible please can you submit your application before Friday 1st June.
