Despite being in our third lockdown, we were fortunate enough to still attend a joint virtual evening with Radley. Guest speaker Simon Parker, a BBC foreign correspondent and travel writer, immersed us in breath-taking videos of his travels to the Arctic. He spoke passionately about what life was like in the Arctic circle and how remote and precious these environments are. The message he conveyed inspired us all to make positive change in the world and appreciate the diversity of our planet. It provided interesting links to the topic of global governance that we are looking forward to studying later on in our course. Thank you to the Geography Department for organising such an insightful and engaging talk which made us eager to travel again!
