Two of our students had work displayed in Young Art Oxford’s virtual exhibition – 2020 Vision.
‘For my painting I did a city scape, the roads are dirty and there are lights from buildings in the background. I based it on London, although I find it quite scary now that lockdown has happened. I now reflect on the title and think, if only we had known, if only we really did have a vision into the future. There is a bus in my picture and I specifically painted it zipping past to signify that 2020 would be like any other year but we should try to make it eco-friendly. Well, the second point has definitely happened, due to the fact that not many are going on planes and fewer people are spending lots of time in their cars.
2020 has been a whirlwind indeed, which I was trying to convey in my picture. However, I don’t think I could EVER have imagined it to be like this!’
